Much has been written about Reham Khan but recently I saw an image on Instagram of her proudly sporting Peshawari Chapplis in Central London.
I started to google images of her and found out that her shoe fetish is nothing new for her BBC audiences.
I spoke to a few sources close to her and they confirmed that Ms Khan loves shoes and has an collection that could compete with Imelda Marcos. Although in recent times Ms Khan has swapped her Louboutins & Jimmy Choos for traditional flats. Another source tells me the high heels were replaced after suffering multiple fractures in a car crash in 2013.
With time the shift towards wearing traditional Chappals comes from the fact that she wants to be only seen wearing Pakistani fashion & products but also because it is a more practical choice for her working and travelling to remote villages.
One source also adds that she wears no gold or precious jewellery when interacting with the masses.
On a trip to Thar she confided to a friend that she was embarrassed when the local women touched her gold chain around her neck and removed it when she went back to her room.
That’s wonderful that she wants to promote local crafts and promote simplicity but I quite liked her stilettos.
So enamoured was the audience of the South of England with her shoes that her last weaver report ended with a close up of her Brazilian handmade shoes but there is a golf trophy in honour of her in in the shape of her stilettos.
We have also been hearing that her upcoming book will have unseen photos of her marriages too.
One of them reveals her favourite shoes one she won’t even take off on her wedding day.
The answer may surprise us all.
Whatever she does and wherever she lives and
inspite of all that has been said about her, one has to admit the lady remains very well heeled.
