انگلینڈ کرکٹ بورڈ (ای سی بی) چیئرمین رچرڈ تھامپسن نے کہا ہے کہ بھارت کے پاکستان نہ آنے کی صورت میں متبادل آپشن پر غور ہو رہا ہے، ہائبرڈ ماڈل کے امکانات زیادہ ہیں۔

سی ای او رچرڈ گولڈ کے ہمراہ ملتان میں برطانیوی صحافیوں سے گفتگو کرتے ہوئے انہوں نے کہا کہ بھارت کے بغیر آئی سی سی چیمپئنز ٹرافی آپشن نہیں ہے۔

انکا کہنا تھا کہ بھارت کے پاکستان نہ آنے پر ہائبرڈ ماڈل کے امکانات اب زیادہ ہو رہے ہیں۔ چند روز میں آئی سی سی کی میٹنگز ہیں، جہاں مختلف آپشن زیر غور آئیں گے۔

رچرڈ تھامپسن نے کہا کہ چیمپئنز ٹرافی میں بھارت کا شرکت نہ کرنا کرکٹ کے مفاد میں نہیں ہوگا۔ جے شاہ جو اب آئی سی سی کے سربراہ ہوں گے، انکا اس معاملے میں اہم کردار ہوگا۔

اس موقع پر رچرڈ گولڈ کا کہنا تھا کہ پاکستان اور بھارت کے نہ کھیلنے سے براڈ کاسٹنگ رائٹس پر بہت منفی اثر پڑے گا اور ہمیں اس کا تحفظ کرنا ہے۔

سی ای او انگلش کرکٹ بورڈ نے کہا کہ ابھی چیمپئنز ٹرافی میں وقت ہے، فیصلے کرنے میں وقت لگتا ہے۔

رچرڈ تھامپسن نے کہا کہ اگر ایسے حالات آتے ہیں تو بہت سے آپشن دستیاب ہیں۔

انکا یہ بھی کہنا تھا کہ یہ معاملہ بھارت اور پاکستان کے درمیان ہے اور مجھے امید ہے کہ وہ کوئی راستہ نکال لیں گے۔ یہ پاکستان کے لیے بہت بڑا لمحہ ہے اور امید ہے پاکستان میں پورا ایونٹ دیکھ سکیں گے۔
